Wishing all our families a happy and healthy summer holiday.

Transition for our new Yr 7 students then continued on Wednesday 2 July, with a barbecue and presentation to welcome both the new students and their families into the Hamilton community, with one of our Yr 9 students, volunteering to stay after school and help cook for the event. A fun time was had by all, and students were farewelled until their new start in September, to begin with a tutor meeting for individual students on 3 September. We look forward to greeting them again then and getting their Hamilton journey underway.

• Empower students to become agents of change within their schools, families, and communities.
• Connect learning to real-world issues, fostering critical thinking and problem solving around ecological topics.
• Encourage collaboration and innovation, allowing students to explore eco-friendly solutions and green technologies.

The day provided a meaningful opportunity to embed environmental education into the broader school culture, nurturing a generation that values and protects the natural world.

Throughout the day, students were divided into 5 groups, and they followed a programme of 5 activities: 

• Preparing a Gardening Area
• An ECO food activity
• Bug Hotel Building
• Recycled Art Challenge
• Making Seed Bombs and Bird Feeders

It was a fantastic day and the teamwork and camaraderie between the students was evident. Prizes were given for the most engaged student, best team player and best work produced during each session.

Hamilton School will be closed for the Half Term break between Monday 26 May and Friday 30 May. We look forward to all students returning on Monday 2 June.

All students will be on their new timetables (available here) from this date.

We will have an exciting range of activities going on throughout the day, followed by an Afternoon Tea.

These products are available to all students and can be requested at any time by calling the school office, or emailing Mrs Nemeth (g.nemeth@maidenerleghtrust.org).

We will also be sending home some products throughout the year. If you would prefer to opt out of receiving these items, please advise the school office.

Whilst all products have been checked against our student allergy records, we would encourage parents to check the items before use. 

We would like to invite our parents / carers to our next Parents Evening which takes place on Wednesday 26 March between 3pm – 6pm.

To book appointments with Hamilton staff more smoothly, we will be using a system called School Cloud.  This system allows you to book a face-to-face meeting, or telephone appointment with your child’s teacher.  This is a secure online system which is compatible with smartphones and computers with an internet browser.   It has an easy-to-use online booking system that allows you to choose your own appointment time with your child’s teacher and you will receive an email confirming your appointment.

Telephone appointments that are booked will be 10 minutes long and will automatically end after the 10 minutes has passed, if the meeting is face-to-face, this will also be ended after 10 minutes to ensure all appointments will be on time. If you require further time with your child’s teacher, please let them know and they can all you back at a convenient time.

To attend your appointment that is not face-to face, you simply need to log back into the system prior to the start time and click the green ‘Join Video Appointments’ button that will be visible.

You will receive an email from School Cloud later today with instructions on how to log into the system to book your appointments with staff.  This is simply a link to click on which will take you to their online site (you do not need to download or install any apps).  The booking system will be live to book appointments from 1pm on 11 March 2025.

If you have any issues logging in to School Cloud, please let us know and Hamilton staff will be able to assist you with the booking of your appointments.

"All of our schools are wonderful, but we're starting with Hamilton School because next week, on Thursday 30 January, they are hosting the first ever Hamilton School Open Evening from 3:00pm to 5:00pm! PLUS, from September they will be welcoming female students for the first time.

Parents and children are invited to come and visit Hamilton School and meet key staff, speak to our students and find out about subject and enrichment information.  We look forward to meeting you all.
