Eco Day

Hamilton School delivered an ECO-focused day today, to educate and inspire students about environmental sustainability, climate action, and their role as stewards of the planet. By engaging students in hands-on activities, workshops, and discussions, the day aimed to:
- Raise awareness of current environmental challenges such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss.
- Promote sustainable thinking and encourage environmentally responsible behaviours in daily life.
- Empower students to become agents of change within their schools, families, and communities.
- Connect learning to real-world issues, fostering critical thinking and problem solving around ecological topics.
- Encourage collaboration and innovation, allowing students to explore eco-friendly solutions and green technologies.
The day provided a meaningful opportunity to embed environmental education into the broader school culture, nurturing a generation that values and protects the natural world.
Throughout the day, students were divided into 5 groups, and they followed a programme of 5 activities:
- Preparing a Gardening Area
- An ECO food activity
- Bug Hotel Building
- Recycled Art Challenge
- Making Seed Bombs and Bird Feeders
It was a fantastic day and the teamwork and camaraderie between the students was evident. Prizes were given for the most engaged student, best team player and best work produced during each session.
Well done to all students!
