Key Staff

Executive Headteacher (Maiden Erlegh Trust) - Mandy Wilton 

Mandy is the Executive Headteacher with responsibility for the Trusts Special Schools and Alternative Provision.

She has worked in the education sector for over 25 years, 20 of which have been in the Specialist and AP sector.  Mandy has experience of school leadership in a range of contexts this includes Headship, Deputy Headship, SENCO and Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion.  Mandy is currently the Headteacher of Cranbury College in Reading, an Alternative Curriculum Provider that is currently in an OFSTED category of Good since its last inspection in 2018, this has rapidly improved from its Requires Improvement Grade in January 2016, when Mandy first joined the College.

As a senior leader in Education, Mandy has supported schools including those in special measures through her work as a senior officer in several local authorities.  This includes working as an SEN Consultant in the London Borough of Redbridge and Head of SEN and Inclusion in Bracknell Forest.  In the latter role particularly, Mandy was involved in School Improvement and led on the opening of a new 52 place Specialist Autism resource.  Mandy was also involved in the project team for the application and development of a new Secondary Free School in the borough.

Headteacher - Jane Straw 

Jane Straw joined Hamilton School as Interim Head of School from 6 January 2020, and was appointed as substantive Headteacher from 16 March 2020.

During her career she has previously led two other special schools as Headteacher. She opened LVS Oxford in September 2014 which received a ‘Good’ Ofsted grading in May 2015 and became Headteacher of Priory Lodge School, Roehampton, London for three years in December 2016, also achieving a ‘Good’ Ofsted outcome in May 2019. Before moving into special schools as a senior leader she spent fifteen years in mainstream comprehensives in Cardiff, moving through middle and senior leadership and securing additional provision for students with special needs such as SEMH and autism.

deputy Headteacher - George Chatzakis 

After gaining QTS in 2006, George started teaching  in both Secondary and Primary settings in London before joining Hamilton School (then Phoenix College) in 2008. Since then he has taught Physical Education, Science, Maths, ICT, Business Studies and Geography, and worked as a form tutor and then Assistant Headteacher.

As he embarks on his role as Deputy Headteacher he will try to help create a purposeful, caring, learning environment for our students by the application of high professional standards of pastoral care and support for their emotional and behavioural needs, and learning difficulties.

Assistant Headteacher and senco - Claudine Muller 

Claudine has been teaching for 21 years. She started in South Africa and then in the United Kingdom from 2001. She qualified as a Nurse and then changed careers and embarked on a teaching career. She has a BSc Ed obtained from the University of Western Cape in South Africa 1996 and completed her QTS at East Anglia University. She has taught at various schools in Essex, Bromley, Hammersmith and Fulham and now Reading.

She has been a form tutor, Lead in Biology within a department, a KS5 Science and BTech coordinator, a Head of Department in Science and she is now embarking on her role as Assistant Head.
